Had an awesome tour here 4 years ago. Really shows the amount of redundancy in the safety systems which makes this a very safe and clean source of energy. The tour takes a long time to organise due to security constraints but I thoroughly recommend it.

Opening up a nuclear power plant with over 300 hairline cracks in the graphite of the core. Is that really such a good idea EDF?? Do we really want to see another Chernobyl disaster? EDF claim that safety was their number one priority. I highly doubt that to be the case. More like money is the overriding factor in this.

nuclear power in my opinion is an absolute disgrace, not just that but it is heavily dangerous. why not just use safe, renewable, clean energy?

A shame the Google review process is being hijacked by the anti-nuclear agenda. This is a forum to review the attraction, and not to post one-star reviews because you have an anti-nuclear viewpoint... So to keep on-topic: The visitor centre is excellent, well run and the staff are very friendly and have good technical knowledge. There are few locations in the UK that offer such a unique tour since 9/11 and both adults and children will find it fascinating to look inside an operational nuclear power plant. Whilst I was here, a local school was visiting too - the kids were so engrossed the teacher couldn't get them to go to lunch! A place to explore, in a most beautiful location - some great walks and scenery in the local area too. It's not a physics lesson or a lecture, and it is pitched just right to enable anyone to enjoy it. Leave your preconceptions at home and enjoy a quite unique experience.

A nuclear powerplant with hairline cracks in the graphite around the core. More cracks than the 350 maximum allowed within safety limits, so EDF Energy propose to increase the safety limits to 700 cracks to allow the continued operation of the plant. Anyone with a brain can see that's a bad idea, but not EDF and not the regulator.

Fantastic service. Just the thing to keep a top secret underground world domination bunker up and running. Can't wait to feed some bright green nuclear energy to my death laser muhahahahahaha

The thermal spa is to die for. Would get 5* if the café was better.
