Fantastic first experience - was fortunate to get a table on the Eat Out to Help Out scheme's final day. Friendly service and nice ambiance (more so than the Hastings branch). Whole sea bass from the specials menu and pork belly were both thoroughly enjoyed. Stocking local real ale (and cider) was also welcome!
Very popular Restaurant, we had an excellent time yesterday at Lunch, staff were exceptional and the food was even better. (This is not a negative just an opinion, it would have been nice to have a selection of shell fish Seafood as a starter, seemed that this was not an option , only as a main course) I would thoroughly recommend this Restaurant in Battle.
Fantastic place. Food very good, and service excellent. Very COVID safe feeling too.
initially I booked to attend Whites in the Old Town. the lady on the phone said that it was booked up until late so suggested the new one in Battle. This was a good decision as the parking is easier and has a more contemporary feel to the place. From the waitress the place has been opened for about 8 month now. it has a funky old-school style to the place and with various lamps made and out of bazaar items (which you can buy). there were 3 staff who all seemed well adverse to the menu, wine list and ran of well rehersed service. the menu choice has a wide array of food. if seafood isn't your thing then there is more than that on offer, including steak you cook yourself on a rock. the prices were reasonable and the portion sizes plentiful. a good selection of wines and drinks were available and again for good prices. we started off with king prawns and mussels. the prawns were a good size and were plated with a fresh salad. water was provided automatically with our drinks which was a nice touch. mussels were amazing. large, sweet and juicy on a lovely creamy sauce. mains were the pork belly which was a good size and cooked well, and a seafood mix. This was priced at around 17 and came with a fresh selection of seafood. puddings were a chocolate and hazelnut cake which was light and smooth. not too rich but enough for a choccy hit. sorbet was priced per scoop. sizes were large and well worth the price. staff were a credit to the owners and from the experience this is on the top 5 places to take friends out for a decent meal. a good night had and a well deserved 5 stars
