If you live in Whitley bay and like watching movies and you have not been here you should be ashamed of yourself. This is a great little place. It shows all the latest movies, has a relaxed atmosphere and fair prices snacks. Most of all though the cinematic experience is really, really good. So next time you want to go to the cinema, instead of going to the major chain places try this and I bet you have a good time.

First time to the Jam Jar cinema and I was not disappointed. Friendly staff and great service. An absolute gem in the centre of Whitley Bay. Can't wait to return.
Jam Jar is a fantastic local cinema that is a part of the culture of Whitley Bay. I've since a number of films at the Jam Jar over the years and it's always a great experience. The ticket prices are very reasonable for a privately owned cinema (cheaper than your big chains), and you can get a tasty local beer to take in with you. Fully recommend it.
A charming little cinema and a real asset to the area. Very reasonably priced and good refreshments, and the cinema itself is lovely.
