I found George's by chance online when I was looking for some quirky containers for my new kitchen. I found some lovely stuff and was really pleased. The price was reasonable, including that of delivery so I decided to place an order for 4 decorative tins. I awaited their delivery with great anticipation but as soon as they arrived, my heart sank. You could tell that the package had been really poorly wrapped before I even took the tape off and when I opened the crumpled mess that was handed to me by the delivery guy, I found all of the tins were bent out of shape. They were wrapped in thin and useless bits of card that didn't serve their purpose at all. They were still rattling around and banging in to each other. I can understand this to a degree, the shop are adapting to the new world, as we all are and some onus is on the delivery company for letting it get so squashed, but primarily its down to the poor packaging. I contacted George's to let them know of my dissapointemt and that I had received the items damaged. Their reply? "Bend it back" The material is quite pliable but has left creases down the tins on two of them and I was more disappointed at no apology and no reassurance that they would take my issues in board for future orders. I, as a consequence, won't use the shop again and have already rescinded my recommendations to my friends and told them not to bother. Great stuff, rubbish resolution and an apparent fear of learning from mistakes. Shame.

Fantastic shop that delivers the next day (for a very small fee) and offers a great range of products for adults. I bought three jigsaws for a good price. Would highly recommend this shop to anyone, without a doubt. My go-to shop now it's been discovered.
Georges in Whitstable High Street is a delightful shop - probably quite accurately described as a minimart. It stocks a wonderfully wide range of seasonal gifts, beach items and souvenirs, stationery, household goods, cards and stuff you never expect to find - but need. We love this shop - it is an institution in Whitstable. Lucy and her team are great people who care. Please use this special shop. Shop local - support honest, caring and amazing local businesses. Use them or lose them!
After seeing their posts on Instagram I decided to visit their website and couldn't believe the huge choice of jigsaws. At one point I had about 10 in the basket and then drew up a final list of 3. I ordered these quite late in evening and by the morning they were already dispatched and they arrived the next day, just so impressed. I will be back to buy again , thank you so much, its great knowing that you also sell so many other products
Best little store in town! Sells just about everything at really competitive prices. Always has something for sale to surprise or make you smile!

Excellent service from George's staff in dealing with a Hermes delivery failure. My order was replicated and arrived the next day. Would definitely recommend them as we all know that things sometimes go wrong, but it's the way they are resolved that identifies a great organisation. Thank you.
