Just returned from a 7 night break at the Oystershell and would not hesitate in recommending this property to anyone. The layout of the house and outside space is incredibly well thought out. . . Everything just works the way it should! The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of storage space for groceries. The owner has also left all of the gadget instruction booklets handy which came in very useful rather than pushing buttons to try and make things work which I thought was a nice touch and made things go smoothly. The views from the upstairs veranda are lovely and we were well blessed by sunshine during our trip (coffee on the terrace in the morning was a real treat). 2 good size tv’s and other associated gadgets (dvd player, appletv, etc) are on hand should the weather turn sour. The house is VERY clean and well presented and is clearly well looked after by the owner and the team he uses for cleaning in between guests. In terms of location, we walked into town a couple of times and it took us about 25 minutes at a stroll and is worth the trip. Good selection of pubs and restaurants to choose from to suit all budgets. For seafood lovers, I would recommend the Crab & Winkle restaurant which is located in the harbour. Outside of Whitstable, we took a drive out along the coast to the various local destinations such as Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Margate, etc with Broadstairs being a nice little town. Also close by are the Aspinall Foundation animal parks (Howletts & Port Lympne) which are both very good in different ways.

Oyster Shell is an absolutely stunning house! We stayed in Sep 2020 when we had the heatwave. Fantastic to be able to open up all the sliding doors back and front of the house. Our dog absolutely loved this and running in and out of the two gardens. The balcony was lovely to sit out on in the evening with a glass of wine and watch the sunset. The house is very well equipped and was spotlessly clean. Had no worries about covid19 at all. Just a 3 minute walk to the beach and the local pub. About 20 minute walk in to Whitstable. The East Kent gastro pub is a must! Also, the Milk and Honey cafe do fantastic cakes. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Andy and to your dad. We had a fantastic stay!
We had a wonderful, much-needed week at the Oyster Shell in July. It is a beautiful house and was spotlessly clean, with everything you could possibly need in a home away from home (particularly in the current circumstances). The location is fabulous, just a short walk into the centre of Whitstable, but also minutes away from Seasalter beach to watch the most incredible sunsets away from the crowds. Very responsive, helpful owner who obviously has a great eye for design. Would thoroughly recommend, we will be back!
Spent two weeks in August in this wonderful house with two kids and would thoroughly recommend it. Extremely well designed and appointed, the owners couldn’t be more helpful and, if anything, the website doesn’t do full justice to the amazing balcony sea views. Two minutes walk to the beach and Whitstable a 20 minute stroll away. Do check it out!
Stunning house in beautiful Whitstable. We stayed in Oyster Shell for a week in August with our two boys. It was our first time visiting Kent. The house was fabulous; modern, stylishly decorated and very well equipped. Gorgeous views from first floor lounge. The owner was very helpful with any queries we had and answered them promptly. We particularly enjoyed our walks along the beach in the evenings, watching the sun set over Whitstable Bay. We have already booked a return visit this Summer.
