Got to experience 'The Street' which is an island strip that you can walk out to at low tide.

My partner and I love walking along from Tankerton to the edge of Whitstable. The tide was far out and we could see 'the street' the sand spit running out into the sea. Plenty of seats so we could sit down and just enjoy the view.

I walked out on The Street at 7.30 Sunday the 28th as it would have been our Son Tim's 50th Borthday today. We put his ashes out there in 2008.

A wonderful place to walk either on Tankerton Slopes or on the coastal path. I like to look at the beach huts and pick out the ones I think are painted in the best colours! There are a few taps with drinking water to top up your bottle or for your fog ic you have one. Beware of the cyclists which seem to think they have the right of way and whizz by without warning.
