First off, the meat is of very high quality and the prices very reasonable. However, the rudeness and contempt that the owner and his wife show towards their customers is unbelievable. On each visit we came in with nothing but politeness but were always made to feel as though we were making an intrusion worse than interrupting their Sunday lunch. If you don't want customers coming in during the earlier part of your business hours, then change your business hours - don't act so insultingly. It's a real shame to leave this review because I feel for small and local businesses and like to do what I can to support them. As I say, it's only the customer service which is at fault here, the products are top quality.

I recently purchased some meat which was excellent quality. I wish i could say the same for there welcome !! So grumpy. I know economically life can be tough but a welcome smile does not cost anything & who knows you may sell more.

The meat at this butchers is excellent quality and there is a wide variety of cuts. Also, if they do not have the meat in stock they'll order it in for you.

Butchers are getting rarer nowadays and I'm thankful of this little place. The staff are naturally very knowledgeable about their product and advised me on an alternative to fillet, which I must say was top quality and at a reasonable price.

Very dissapointed with the service, called in today at 3.40 and they were already packing up although they don't close until 5pm, what I asked for was already packed away, the girl serving was very polite however the guy, I think the manager, was downright rude, stating 'typical' and sarcastic. He tried to palm me off with something I didn't want rather than cutting another for me. I left the shop empty handed and won't be returning. A real shame for Sedbergh.
