We visited Frieda's a couple of weeks ago and were so concerned about the lack of Covid safety measures that we left and went elsewhere. Firstly the place is packed with tables, no distancing / reduction of capcity implemented. There is a door way at the back that you have to go through to get to the rooms upstairs. They had a table with 3 ppl seated at it right by that doorway. 1 customer was practically sitting in the doorway. We had to pass him to then get upstairs. There were two connecting rooms upstairs, we were led and left in the second room. We were alone there. However the was no atempt to tidy away the left overs that were on a table beside us. The table we were directed to, had a doilie table covering, which there is no way they are santising between each customer. They didn't ask us to write our contact details in a book. They are also still using paper menus. The over all feel was that no extra covid related safety measures were in place and they compared very poorly to other businesses that we have visited.

It gets busy but when we visited i managed to get a table downstairs ( although there is seating upstairs). We loved the fact that the tea was tea-leaves and the chai tea I had was gorgeous. Lovely big doorstep sandwiches and the cakes on show looked to good to turn down.. when we entered it was busy and that's down to the tearooms popularity, definitely going here again when we're in town,

Located on a side street a little away from the High Street. Friendly welcome. Space upstairs where we sat had a quirky charm (sloping floor and chandelier). Good pit stop for us getting out of the rain.

Friendly, great vibe , delicious food. I sat and read my book in peace, but food and berry tea came fast and was very tasty. Especially good cappuccino after my meal. Thanks

Very cozy place, with nice decoration! The food was really good and the service was polite. The reason I am rating with 3 stars only is that they close at 5pm and we were finishing our coffee around 4h50pm and they started to say that they were closing, asking us to pay and making us feel a bit uncomfortable, since we were finishing our coffee and tea. We felt like they were saying \Get out of here!\. It was a bit strange for us, but ok. We would be back (not close to 5pm anymore) because we really liked the food and the place.
