Nice place for a socially distanced catch up! Plenty of parking to the rear, and we were able to book a table in the outdoor, heated seating area (which we required, as we were from 2 different households). The only minor downside was that the heater directly over our table wasn't working properly, and it got chilly pretty quickly! The owner greeted us warmly, brought cushions out for us to sit on, and was very attentive throughout. The food was nice - typical \pub grub\, but perfect for a cold December day. All in all, a nice place to spend an afternoon!

A welcoming atmosphere in which they serve excellent food with a good selection of drinks. The service was fantastic and the place very clean. Apologies for the pictures they don’t do the food here any justice! This is a gem we discovered totally by chance and having read the google reviews. We are very glad that we did and will return. Its one of those places you really don’t mind paying for the quality which is evident in everything that they do.
Had a lovely meal. Food fresh and very tasty, fish and chips beautifully done. Staff very friendly and helpful. We're not local but meet family in Winchester and have gone to The Golden Lion for our meal a few times now and will again.
First time visiting and was blown away! The staff were very helpful and polite, beer is lovely and the food is outstanding. Will be visiting regularly. 10/10
Such lovely tasting food. It was actually fantastic. The staff were so friendly. I had the calamari to start and it was probably one of the best I have had.. so gooood. I had the mushroom, garlic and saffron sauce tagliatelle as a main and wow... Wow wow wow... Delicious!! My partner had the homemade steak and ale pie and was also delicious... All fresh and just fantastic. Keep it up. We will definitely come back.
