The canal and the views are great and at this time of year as I write this its autumn or fall for those else where. It peaceful early in the morning with the only sounds being the wildlife and the London bound trains in the distance. The dry Dock is something that I didn't know existed on the Basingstoke Canal but it does make sense that such a thing should exist on what was a working canal. The only downside when walking this part of the canal was the people on bikes most of them did respect us as co-users of the canal path but we did have more than one occasion when they missed us by inches while they were going at a fair speed for some known reason they just did not want to slow down or even warn us that they were approaching us by rings a bell or even shouting bike!!. Anyway back to the dry Dock its strange to see just one lock gate on its own at the entrance to the dry Dock, have a look if you happen to pass this part of the canal. In autumn it looks great.

Another local find while walking for exersise. Delightful approach from Frimley Green. Would have returned via the tow path, unfortunately it was closed for repair.

Good place to take a break when walking the towpath. No facilities other than grassy space and simple table and bench
