I had an eye test here around September 2018, the lady was very nice and professional. I was told I could have a free contact lens trial, so I set an appointment for a few days later. I had somebody else do this trial with me, and I was given one set of lenses and told to walk for half an hour and come back, very unlike specsavers where you are given a few days worth of lenses to take home and test out. I was told that if I decided to buy lenses from them, I would have to pay 40 for the free trial on top of the contacts. It was difficult to refuse as the optician would barely take no for an answer. The prices shown to me were also a lot higher than in specsavers for the exact same brands. A few weeks later I rang to ask for the prescription he had calculated for contact lenses. He refused to give this to me, citing that the company would not hand out the contact prescription unless you had been buying contacts from them for 6 months. This is illegal, even if it's a free trial an opticians is obligated to give you your prescription on request. Very disappointed, only giving 2 stars for the excellent service I had during my normal eye exam.
