A fantastic place to visit, the best museum I've visited, so many exhibits and information about the airfield, 390th Bomb Group and WW2. All the volunteers were knowledgeable and helpful. It's free to visit, they rely on donations, which we gladly left.

I visited there with my sons this past year. It is a very nicely kept museum with many WWII artifacts, mostly relating to the 8th Air Force and the B-17 crews that inhabited the airfield. The local community supports this museum and they have a lot of archival material that would be of interest to anyone who had a relative that was stationed here (as my father was). Highly recommended!

Seeing this museum, which is a living tribute to the young men who were stationed there during WWII , was a very personal and moving experience for me. I had always wanted to see it because my father was one of those young men, a pilot of a B-17, stationed there from late 1944 to the end of the war. My husband and I were traveling with friends through southeast England and I called the museum to see if perhaps we could just stop by and walk around a bit, even though it was not open that day. Peter Kindred was so gracious and met us there and personally toured us through the exhibits and drove us around to see where the runway and hardstands were. It made my dad’s time there, which he rarely talked about until late in his life, come alive. Because I was a descendant of an airman, we were given an unexpected “red carpet” treatment which was an overwhelming and touching experience. The gratitude and respect that is felt by the volunteers who run the museum is heartfelt and so appreciated. Although it was a personal connection for me, I recommend a visit there for anyone. This museum is a gem- a time capsule of an era that is gone but should not be forgotten. The exhibits are unique, filled with authentic artifacts that rarely exist today. It is both a tribute to the young Americans who served there and to the dedication of the Kindreds and the many volunteers who created and run this museum. Thanks to you all.
