Travelling on 700 from Worthing Dome to Brighton yesterday 19.07.19 in the evening I witnessed the following incident that needs some attention. A confused elderly lady in a state of dissaray alighted the bus at the Dome who was greeted politely by the driver to present her card. She couldn't and amongst her trolly and shambles proceeded to the first available seat. The driver from his seat asked her again to present her card. By this time the lady was searching frantically through many plastic bags to no avail. The driver then came out of his cabin and asked the lady to present her card. She mumbled that she couldn't . The driver then told her firmly that on this occasion he would let it go but in future she should present her card before alighting.The lady just mumbled Well handled as you must have multiple attempts of freeloading on your bus service but on this occasion as it was plainly evident by her age and state of mind that she wasn't , the driver should have let it go.
