Pete teaches me guitar, and after I recommended him to my brother, he now teaches my niece too. Pete is an extraordinary teacher.... He makes lessons genuinely exciting and great fun, so that each session is something to really look forward to. I was surprised at how fast my progress is with Pete compared to my previous tutors, and he always leaves me feeling inspired with interesting techniques and examples to work on in my own time between lessons. I couldn’t recommend Pete enough, I am very lucky to have found him, and immensely grateful for the time we have together and all the advancements he has helped me to achieve through his teaching.

I came as a beginner to Pete as a keen 70s/80s rock fan wanting to play something interesting utising some of the extra time I had in lockdown. Pete is a great all round experienced professional who in addition has widespread experience and knowledge of all the music of that era. Pete is also very patient and positive in finding a way to achieve. I really enjoy the lessons. I would strongly recommend Pete.
Peter is a great teacher and made me feel comfortable from the start despite my reticence. In just a few weeks he has me playing tunes that even my wife recognises! He is encouraging and doesn't even grimace when I make noises that frighten passing strangers! I would recommend him without reservation!
Just returned from my first full lesson, I had a great time! Pete had tabbed and printed out material based on music we discussed in our previous meeting and had loads of friendly encouragement and advice as I tackled it. Thoroughly recommended.
I have had online guitar lessons with Peter about once a month during lockdown. He has helped me focus on areas I was weak at such as solo playing and pick control. I have really progressed and am enjoying my guitar playing even more nowadays. I strongly recommend him as he is very knowledgeable and friendly.
Pete Newberry is one of the leading Guitar tutors in the South of England. He has invaluable commercial experience playing at venues of every kind and on board the great cruise ships of our age. Pete is easy going, and every pupil I have spoken to tells me what fun he is to learn from. These pupils have gone onto have successful bands themselves which have toured the world and been able to play at concerts for more than a fair fee. I've been having guitar lessons with Peter since lockdown and he has hands down helped to improve my playing and technique, taking it up to the 'next level'. Peter's professional background shines through at every lesson and he has given me excellent advice on how to tackle many different styles of music (I have a pretty eclectic taste!).
Peter is an amazingly talented guitar player and practiced in a wide range of styles, I've enjoyed every session we've had together immensely. I can't recommend him enough.
