If you want The Priory, hotel type of treatment (28,000 a month) then this is not the place for you. It's a fairly tough, structured programme that encourages personal responsibility. The staff are pretty much all in recovery themselves and know exactly what they're talking about (forget even thinking about trying to blag them. They lived it!). If you're ready to embrace change, be honest, open and willing, believe in what is on offer and connect with the fellowship of recovery then you have every chance of walking out of there and into a new life. Free from addiction and all the chaos and pain that brings to ourselves and our loved ones. Open Minds literally saved my life 18 months ago and for that I will be eternally grateful.

I attended open minds in 2012 for a 28 day stay. I was drinking again 10 days after leaving. The majority of the people that had been admitted were just trying to escape a prison sentence and didn’t take anything seriously . I had maybe 2 one to one sessions the time I was there. The other residents ended up sneaking alcohol into the premises (these were the ones not paying 1000’s to try to get better). There were also a couple of residents there which were able to form a relationship and sneak into each-others rooms during the evening. I got absolutely nothing from my stay, but learning how to scrub a disgusting cooker and make a bed to a prison standard. There are much better rehab centres out there-please avoid. Oh and for the “aftercare”, what aftercare?!?! AVOID!!!!

Choosing a treatment center for my mother wasn't an easy task, but I am thankful that we chose Open Minds. The admin staff were very helpful during the admission process and made my mother feel at ease and settled her anxiety before we arrived. The counselling team, medical team and house managers were amazing and worked very hard with my mother. Thanks to Open Minds, I finally feel like I have my mother back.
