I discovered this gem of a solicitors when buying a flat recently. Claire was brilliant and gave great professional advice. I felt I could discuss all aspects of the purchase, no matter how trivial the enquiry, as Claire was so knowledgeable and patient. Phone calls and emails were always replied swiftly, indeed everyone I spoke to were really friendly and efficient. We used Merritt & Co recently when selling our house and I cannot recommend their service enough, particularly our solicitor Jessica Roberts. Her communication was exceptional, and as first time sellers she was always on hand to answer any queries and guide us through the entire process.
I would not recommend choosing Merritt & Co solicitors for conveyancing. I did not receive a single proactive update throughout the whole buying process, had to frequently chase them and my calls were not returned. This was my first home purchase and they did not take the time to walk me through the buying process at the start. It seems that they do not care about customer service and just go from one case to another in a very impersonal way. Luckily I was able to understand how things were progressing and was made aware of blockers/delays through my sellers whose solicitor was a lot more helpful. I am extremely disappointed and honestly shocked about how bad my experience was with Merritt & Co from start to finish.
After working with Jessica over the last month or so I can highly recommend Merritts. Outstanding communication throughout the whole process of moving home.
