Overall York has 5 park and rides in my opinion this one is the best and I always use it over the other ones. It is located just outside York near the A64 so it's very easy to get too. They have a big carpark, including spaces for camper vans and electric cars. Also on site is some free toilets which is handy. Buses come every 8-10 minutes and you can pay by card on the bus which is helpful.

Worth using Park & Ride for York to reduce the volume of traffic in this historic city and make it easier to get in and out. Each Park & Ride has a different route (check the Park & Ride Website) so you can choose either your nearest or the one that takes you nearer where you want to go. Frequency - every 10-15 minutes. Can be a little longer if traffic is heavy. Price various: Single and returns. Concession, small charge, your issued with a single ticket, keep it and show it to the driver on your return (it acts as a return ticket, but you also need to tap your Concession card). Accessibility - good, plenty of parking for the disabled. Bus platform is level with the pavements. Spaces for wheelchair users (rights) and prams on the bus. Toilet for the disabled. Car Parking - free, plenty of spaces including parking for disabled. Check closure time as there is a hefty release fee (50 - early 2019)! Tourist Guide and Map - at the Park & Ride and on the bus. Includes map of the City Center, the Park & Ride Routes, places to visit, shop and eat. Staff - always found the Bus drivers very friendly and helpful. Toilets - including for the disabled. Bus frequency good, so if you need to go!
I've been using the park and ride here for years and it's a good service. Bit disappointed when I was here just before lockdown as a bus drove off while we were walking towards it and because I don't think the sinks are Covid safe (you have to press a button to operate and you have to avoid standing next to someone).
It is very accessible, with a lot of parking spaces, wheelchair access as well.
As a first timer to Yorkshire let alone York, I was very impressed with the park and ride system around York. Plenty of options as to sites to park and here there are over 900 parking places alone. There were toilet facilities which were clean and well maintained, readily available both about the park and ride service and York itself and the staff were friendly and helpful. Free to park and 3.10 return fare to the city seems very reasonable. On a side note it was nice to see a bendy bus again, having had Boris get rid of all ours in London.
