Stunning place to visit, made all the better for having amazing weather. Staff at English Heritage doing a great job to ensure Covid compliance. Good to see most of not all visitors also complying. Steeped in history, and huge amounts of the buildings/ruins remain.

5 star plus many more stars, a real hidden gem in North Yorkshire. Photos don't do Rievaulx Abbey justice it is stunning, you can spend many hours exploring the ruins. Car park, cafe and shop all on site, also dog friendly. WARNING roads are very small so drive carefully.

Stunning Abbey ruins set in a wooded valley. Road to site quite narrow GO EASY! Quite small car park and separate payment required. Nice cafe and picnic benches outside. Visit the small museum on site, all in all, a very doable site

Really beautiful place looking stunning on an autumnal day. English Heritage staff were all fantastic, helpful, welcoming, kind and informative. The ruins were majestic. Great for hide and seek too. The whole area was a joy to visit. We had a really special day.

A fabulous place to visit. Sits down low on a valley in a very small village. A beautiful place to visit. You won't be disappointed.

A large ruin of what must have been an impressive abbey in it's glory days. The guide book is worth purchasing to read while you walk around the sight, it explains each portion of the ruin and includes pictures from places thought to be similar and artists impressions that really help to visualize what was once there.

Fantastic place and a great walk from Helmsley - historical town. The ruins of the abbey are not just leftovers. There’s loads to explore. Based in a picturesque valley it is one of the must see places in Yorkshire. You need to prebook your visit online otherwise you won’t be able to access the abbey grounds. It costs 11 per adult. Little caffe based at the car park next to the abbey can be accessed without prebooking. There’s a nice little river next to it where you can have a bit of a rest and on top of the hill above an observatory. Highly recommended.
