Best shop in York! Always my first stop off when I visit. Brilliant atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. They have an incredible selection of boardgames, comics, role play games, card games. I’m never always sure exactly what I’m after when I come in but the staff don’t hesitate to lend a hand and recommend me something new. Always feel very welcome and love chatting with the staff. Looking forward to things getting back to normal so I can do this more often.

I wasn't sure what this store was before entering but had a good surprise as I saw rows upon rows of comic books, board games and even manga. If you're into dungeons and dragons, they sell the materials here and they even have a play space upstairs! Staff were robustly passionate about the games and were very helpful.
There was plenty of great stuff in there, lots of stuff I’d love, however the atmosphere was odd. The staff would briefly interact with you however it seemed less like they wanted too and more like you were interrupting them. When paying they went through the basic transactional stuff but immediately just went back to talking to each other; it felt cliquey and like you were excluded from the interaction. So the stock was great but the staff and general atmosphere less so.
Love this place! I only got into graphic novels at the start of the year, and the staff at Travelling Man are always extremely helpful. They have a good selection, with even more available online, and again the staff will always help you locate something in store and, as I’ve found especially helpful, suggest new reads based on what you have already enjoyed, and so far I haven’t been less wrong from their suggestions! I look forward to getting back to the store when it is safe to do so. (I personally only get graphic novels so can’t comment on the rest of the stock)
A really nice experience. They have lots of comics and graphic novels. They have a big selection of individual comics as well. Manga and anime are on the back of the store. The staffs are very friendly. We just bought board games and they have them for a reasonable price. You can get a member card as well. And get a discount if you are part of a local boardgame community. Will definitely come back again.
