As is usual in the great European cathedrals, York is the result of the evolution over the centuries of an initial religious temple. To visit York Minster Cathedral, you will have no problem getting there, as it is located in the very centre of this very beautiful medieval city in Great Britain. You will enter the cathedral from the area where the conglomeration of narrow streets of medieval origin is concentrated, and you will enter through the south façade, directly into the transept. The opening hours of the Gothic York Minster are Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 4.30pm as the last entrance; and on Sundays, from 12.30pm to 3.15pm. To visit the cathedral you have to pay a combined ticket which allows you to see the interior of the church and climb the towers. During your visit to York Minster you are free to take photos and film video, and the entrance fee allows you to take part in the guided tours that run continuously every day.

Great cathedral. A lot to see. You can buy a ticket only for the cathedral (I think it was 16) but if you want to go to the top of the tower you need to buy a separate ticket (around 5). BUT be aware that climbing to the top is not for everyone, those are A LOT of stairs! I and my friends are all healthy young people and we had to stop twice to catch out-breath. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how long it took to get to the top, but it felt like forever, if that's of any help :D And AND there was an office on the top of the tower - tiny little room on the top of the world - and a lady, which obviously works there, was sitting in it cheerfully (probably making sure that nobody jumps from the top). And when you think about it - this lady needs to take these stairs every single day!! She probably goes to work half an hour earlier just so she can get to the top on time! And she must have legs of steel! I do recommend it though, the view from the top is magnificent! We went around March, it wasn't very busy.

Fantastic old cathedral. The COVID safe tour was really well done. Like most things, these days you have to book in advance, but don’t let that put you off. It is really well done and you got to see the whole of the minister on a one-way self-guided tour. A must see if you are visiting York

A truly incredible place. Historic and commanding in the heart of York. The inside is magical and the high ceilings make you feel you’re in the Vatican. If you want an experience within a piece of history in a wonderful cathedral then this is the place for you.
