Call the cops I've been robbed in broad daylight! The food was tasty, albeit small, but in order for me to pay for it I had to get another mortgage! I ordered the spicy fried chicken which on the menu was listed as 7.50. Steep perhaps, but expected at Pop Brixton. Well that was just the start... the waitress asked if I wanted rice with that. Yes please.. what she didn't tell me was rice was around 3.50 extra. To drink? Why not try a beer? Careful now as a bottle of beer will set you back a whopping 7.50!! (Spoiler alert the drink prices are not listed on menu) I could have bought a weekly food shop for a family of 4 with my bill of 18.50. Never again.

Have you ever wanted to travel to a country to indulge in the local cuisine, only never having the time or the money to go? Imagine my surprise when I discovered Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen, nestled in a shipping container in London’s Pop Brixton. My taste buds were immediately travelling to West Africa, where I am dying to go. I’ve been longing for the flavors of Ghana, and I’ve finally found them. Wanting to share my gastronomic desires with my significant a good friend, I took him to Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen for a weekday lunch. While the actual dining area is intimate, there’s several spots to sit and eat outside, and since the weather was in our favor, that’s exactly what we did. The service was impeccable, everyone was so warm and inviting, like eating fresh home-cooked meals with your extended family. Definitely the right West African vibe. We shared some hand-cut plantain chips, which had the perfect amount of seasoning. The tapas style main plates are great for sharing, which is exactly why we ordered a few different ones. The Ghana style butterfly prawns were perfectly grilled, the citrusy-spice flavor really tingled my tongue. Zoe’s spiced peanut sauce is exactly the right accompaniment to the savory grilled lamb cutlets, and Zoe’s Jollof Spiced Fried Chicken transported me to Ghana instantly with its spicy heat and tender meat. Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen may be a little restaurant, but the flavors, service, and restaurant design are anything but small. I highly recommend this gem!

Excellent atmosphere, the food is great. Love how diversified it all is. Cuisine from Ghana made for the world.

They serve Coke in bottles shipped all the way from Nigeria. And their chicken is properly crispy!

Please note that this is my opinion based on my experience of this company. We hired Zoe's Ghana Kitchen to cater at my sister's wedding and it was a disaster. The food tasting was excellent but once they had our deposit for the wedding it was a disaster from start to finish. Awful communication and service refusing to visit the venue until the very last moment. Extremely demanding and inflexible, kicking up a fuss as a wedding of approximately 200 people was running 30 minutes behind schedule. They then tried to serve the starters before the bride & groom had even entered the room! They then proceeded to serve under cooked chicken to some guests (perhaps they could have put that 30 minutes to good use) and then had the temerity to complain about how difficult their job was, bringing to mind the phrase "if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen". The team was lazy, missing out cutlery to many guests, and failing to serve the top table with champagne for any of the toasts and only providing them with food after multiple requests! There is more but I think by this stage you get the gist. In summary, I would advise that you DO NOT USE TO CATER AT YOUR WEDDING. In my view to this company your wedding is not a special occasion; and based on my experience, they will not go the extra mile for you and will get away with much less if they can.

'It's Ghana be over priced'. Meal for two with a beer comes to 45. Portions are minute, 2 pieces of meat with no rice for 9. They offer you a beer that's not on the menu and then stick you with a cost of 7.25! Not only that, they tried to sneak a few extras onto our bill. I love supporting local businesses but not when they bend over their customers. My advise is to try somewhere else.
