A week spent here on a conservation course with Trees For Life can not only change one's perceptions of the world; maybe even the course of one's life, but it enables one, in some small way, to repair a minute part of the immeasurable damage that humans have done and are continuing to do to Scotland and the planet in general. Make no mistake: this is one for the bucket list.

C'est un vieux souvenir. En juillet 1977, nous avions fait le voyage d’Écosse et passé quelques jours dans cette ferme où nous avait reçu Alice, en compagnie d'un petit garçon qu'elle qualifiait de \clever boy\ à toute occasion. Puis nous avons poursuivi notre voyage vers le nord. Je garde un souvenir ému et attendri quand je pense aux merveilleux moments passés là-bas, et au bonheur qui fut le nôtre de découvrir un si beau pays.
