Everything we ordered, and we ordered a LOT, was simply delicious. Great plate presentation, cooked to perfection and authentically Spanish. Chef Lance obviously cooks with passion because it comes out in his food, every dish we had was full of flavour. It is a small restaurant with a really warm and inviting atmosphere with great service. Would highly recommend and we will be going back as soon as we get the chance.

We went for our anniversary meal here (without kids!) It was all very nice and food was excellent. There isn't much space downstairs but most of the tables are upstairs, worth calling and booking if thinking of going at weekend...!

Very much enjoyed our meal. Especially the chorizo and egg. Wasn't a particular fan of the calamari, and have a feeling the olives were from a jar, but definitely wouldn't stop us returning. Friendly people, nice atmosphere, decent portions (actually needed a take away container). Thank you.

Not exactly Tapas, food too spicey more designed for the English palette, small portions and when asked if we enjoyed the food they didn't like our opinion and turned decidedly frosty and no apologies. Also service is very slow

The food was really good considering Wivenhoe and Spanish Tapas are an unlikely combination! The service was a little dodgy however... There were several funny interactions with the waitresses (I suspect they were very new at the job). It was summed up by our final experience where we were asked (while we were still finishing our mains and drinking!!!) if we would like our bill. When one person mentioned we were considering desert the waitress told us the chef was leaving (this is at 9.48pm!!) and she thought it was too late but she could ask. Another person at the table suggested we just have ice cream (which was on the menu) but we were told that it was unlikely as well!!! We were never offered the chance to order anything final before the chef left. We gave up and left but that was a poor end to an otherwise nice evening.
