Myself and my partner went for a meal yesterday at the Potted Pig and had an up and down experience. The welcome we had was pretty basic with a simple, here is your table and the menu is on the QR code. The pork and venison on the menu was extremely well cooked, rich and full of different flavours hitting the palette. Unfortunately the service was very slow and not particularly attentive considering it considers itself a fine dining restaurant. I would normally have recommendations of what wine to choose and help with the flavour of the menu. We weren't asked at all if we needed help choosing or provided details of the food we were choosing. The chef made up for the slightly poor and neglected service experience we had. The pork belly was perfectly cooked. It fell apart, the fat was crackling in the mouth with a beautiful end finish of bacon and bitter sprouts. We were then completely forgotten about when we wanted to have dessert which was upsetting. By the time two hours came round they asked us for the table. Slightly frustrating having neglected service to which the waitress seemed pretty blazay about and chuckled it off. All.in all lovely food but I wouldn't pay the money again after the service we received and it doesn't leave me craving to go back again.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere!This restaurant is practicing social distancing and C19 precautions incredibly well! We got a reservation right away for same day. There is both an a la cart option as well fixed course meal options. We ordered food from both. My kids loved the beef ragu tagliatelle as well as the parsnip soup and tomato salad from the fixed course menu. Hubby and I each got the chicken supreme and the duck from the a la carte menu. Everything was prepared perfectly. They very kindly got us a Welsh rarebit for appetizers. It's normally on the bar menu but they let us have it in the restaurant. Highly recommend

This was my 1st visit to the Potted Pig and I was very impressed with both the quality of the service and the roast beef dinner I had which was 1 of the best I've had anywhere and particularly in Cardiff. I also enjoyed the decor and ambiance of the restaurant which was very relaxing and welcoming. Keep up the good work guys.

Very good service and very tasty Sunday lunch. Unfortunately, 1 star is deducted due to lack of roast spuds - just 2 each! Arguably, the nation's favourite part of a roast and you give just 2 spuds. Unforgivable.

Went here for a Sunday Roast, the menu looked amazing so already had high expectations, however these were exceeded when we arrived. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, customer service was brilliant. The venue itself was very quaint, quiet and very hidden away unless you knew where to go. The food was incredible, it's the only way I can describe it. Can't wait to visit again soon.
