Absolutely a must see place. It is spotless and the birds and animals looked well cared for. The enclosures for the lions and tigers were in keeping with their culture. The grounds are exceptional with picnic areas. Beautiful lake and childrens play area.

An amazing zoo and had so much more than we expected. Feeding the parrots is an amazing experience and the big cats are spectacular. Cafe was fantastic and really reasonable prices!

if i could give 10 stars i would. They look after my birds impeccably and if i email to ask they take the time to email me back. My birds are so well looked after and have freedom and space. I hope so so much the walk through enclosure is opened properly again.

Amazing place to visit. This sanctuary really cares about the animals and birds. The place is well cared for, the staff are friendly and the only downside is that the public roads leading to it are atrocious. The council should be ashamed! This is a beacon flagship for tourists and the council are letting it down badly.

The radio ad used to say that "there's more than just parrots at The Parrot Zoo" and that is true hence its new name. A great one way system around the place with lots of gel dispensers and COVID secure processes from beginning to end. Feed the parrots some peanuts, the meerkats some mealworms and free flying birds some millet, eat well at the cafe, buy related souvenirs at the shop. See the tigers in a superb enclosure you can walk right around the outside of. Amazing! Tapirs, tortoises, turtles, tigers, even reindeer, and there are parrots galore, some of which will talk and even sing to you. Some parrots you can get up close to, some are in their own aviaries, some are free-flying inside a walk-round enclosure. Watch the roads on the way! There are brown signs but keep an eye out for them and plan your route in and out. The roads in the vicinity are not good but, when we visited, were in the process of being resurfaced alongside the nearby dyke but otherwise, it's an undulating car killing crater fest in many directions, narrow and challenging at times for some distance. 30 to 40mph is suggested by signs but NOT recommended - more like 5-15 - 20 absolute max. Take your time for you, your passengers sake and for the sake of your car. But when you get there, you'll have a great time with plenty to see for all the family. Good access for all, friendly welcome, plenty of places to enjoy a picnic in quiet corners, good toilet facilities, outdoor and indoor cafe seating, gravel car park but plenty of parking.

Many varieties of parrots. Meerkat, lions and beautiful tigers. A few other animals. Not a huge park but very enjoyable and not expensive.

Very non descript from the outside, but fantastic on the inside. Lots of chances to interact with the birds on show, sadly we did not get to experience Chico the singing parrot, but perhaps he did not feel like performing that early in the morning. There were lots of free roaming birds which was lovely to see. The walk through aviary was delightful, one of the inhabitants sat on my shoulder playing with my hair. The Tigers were sleepy as expected, and the Tapir was just charming. COVID INFORMATION: Masks worn in the entrance, restaurant and gift shop. Sanitiser available throughout the site. Lots of room for all visitors and plenty of social distancing being carried out. A one way system is in place which actually helps you see absolutely everything. A fantastic place to visit and I finally learnt what the clicky noise is when Reindeer walk!!
