The walk and views are breath taking. Clear skies over a luscious green valley with beautiful scenery. The walk up is not easy but by far not the hardest! The downside: the toilets are NOT looked after and are not pleasant to use. The food trucks are not the greatest food either so I would advise picnic with your own food. Take wipes for the toilet if you need them!

A visit to the highest peak in south Wales is well worth it with stunning views (on a clear day!) of the south Wales valleys, mid Wales, Swansea bay, Black Mountains, Cambrian Mountains and even the Bristol Channel. The walk is around 4 miles from the Pont at Dad car park to the the summit of Pen y Fan before returning via Corn Du summit down the path to the Storey Arms Education Centre and returning to the car park. It is very steep in some places and you should ensure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the 3 hour walk. Just make sure you arrive early to avoid the crowds and to get a parking spot. Highly recommended.

The views of beauty from these peaks is like living in an oil painting. Take a nice gentle stroll and 6hrs will fly by, some summits are more strenuous than others but if you take your time and be sure-footed you'll be fine. A coffee and pork pie at each summit will see you to the next. The weather can change in an instant so be prepared even in glorious weather!

On a clear day, like we were lucky to have, the walk up to Pen y Fan is pleasant with increasingly great views all round. Once you reach the summit the 360 panorama is stunning.

Always a great day out beautiful views blue blue sky and fresh air lots of snow today a real joy and sensible of Welsh government not to close the car park like they did on first lockdown a must walk if you haven't already
