We had a great day out here. There is a great audio guide toy can use for information or there are lots of signs with interesting facts about the Abbey. I was amazed by how big the area was as it looks smaller from the inside. There is a good one way system and hand sanitizer everywhere so definitely a good day out for tier 3!

Friendly staff and welcoming. One way system which was easy to follow. One disable toilet opened which has a baby changing table inside. The museum has a lot of interesting information to read and once you go outside there is more to see and read. Lovely walk on a beautiful day. Spent an 1hour here. Small gift shop.

This place has great religious significance as it's where Christianity was introduced to England as a result of St Augustine's mission from Rome in 597 AD. The original Anglo-Saxon buildings were mostly built over after the Norman conquest, and then later destruction by Henry VIII, however an original part of 7th Century St Pancras Church survived. The museum is the entry and exit point for the Abbey ruins and has masonary artifacts from the period. You can access an audio guide from your phone, but there are good information boards dotted around the site to describe each of the areas.

A well presented, well looked after piece of history. A little off the beaten track, plus you must book in advance, but absolutely worth visiting. Greeted with an informative but warm reception, then given the opportunity to take in the museum and site at my own leisure. Came away with a whole new perspective.

Excellant interpretation centre. Route around site is part travel part grass. OK for mobility scooters although there is one area only accessible by steps. Worth going around outside of site to Lady Wooton sq, for abbey gate house.

Historic site, well managed by English Heritage, with lots of background information, timeline of the site, audio which can be downloaded to your phone in the visitor centre. Well worth a visit if you are in Canterbury.

Stunning place, very laid back feel. Wonderful VR tour of what it would have looked like. Food and drink allowed on site with local cider for sale. Wonderful place for a summer stroll and picnic.

I really liked it here. I love the idea of the length of time that humans have been visiting the site (since 600AD). There is not tons to do here, if you aren't interested in historical sites you may find it lacking, but I found it really peaceful to wonder round. I got in free as part of my English heritage membership, normal cost is around 8 per adult. I can hugely recommend English heritage membership if you visit a lot of historical sites though as it is about 5 per month and you have access to over 200 sites.
