Little treat with the wife after 5 years of marriage. And our first trip out since lockdown was relaxed. Chef Samuel the food was on point. Your team did a great job. Sorry we missed you but hope the team enjoyed the beers. Eddy & Keryn you made the night seem effortless, fantastic service from drinks-dinner to breakfast. Can’t recommend this place enough. Room was amazing and great to be able to walk upstairs and crash out.

Fab food, great wine. Stayed for one night with a dinner package which was very reasonable and rooms were cosy and clean. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is we had some issues with the service both at dinner and breakfast but staff were very nice anyway and took the service charge off the final bill. Lovely stay otherwise.

EXCELLENT. Well what can we say....The staff, ambience and food never ever disappoint. We try to visit once a month for a meal. Sometimes we just pop into the garden for an after work tipple. What we love is that the staff are all so calm and knowledgeable. Nothing is rushed and they all know the drinks and food menu inside out. It is such a treat from the minute you step in until you leave. Keep up the good work.

Dissapointing. Poor Slow Service. Arrived for a family meal and great first impression, however, that didn't last. By 1.15 pm food was running out and we had to change our choice. Only 6 choices to start with, although to be fair, the fish course (skate) that had run out was replaced. Asked if we wanted water, it never came. We asked twice more, it never came. Starter of ox cheek was nice but barely warm, no one had come to ask how the starters were. When the mains arrived, 2 of us had to wait another 5 minutes for our cutlery with our meals in front of us. One meal was forgotten and 2 of us had finished by the time it arrived. Meat was warm, chicken a bit dry. Overall, the ingredients were good, but the meal was nothing special. Again, no one asked how our meals were, ironically the one that had to wait, was. My main issue is the 12.5% service charge, that should not have been added given the poor service we experienced. The manager did offer to cancel this only when I complained, but the bill had already been paid. 220 pounds for a 2 course meal for 5. 4 beers and a couple of no alcohol drinks. Due to the poor service, I for one, didn't want to stay longer. They missed out on more revenue for dessert. Would I return? Due to the poor service, No! Good service is the cheapest element to provide in a pub if you can be bothered. There are plenty of places to eat in Kent that provide better service and are more deserving of our cash and custom.
