Exceptional food and service! A must go please if you're in the area.
delicious food. all locally sourced with some unusual ingredients such as ox tongue, wood pigeon and duck hearts. perfect meal :)
We enjoyed our meal very much and found our waiter Sean very efficient and great fun. Family of 4, spent 2 hours, had three courses, only one of us could have a glass of wine, otherwise water, the bill came to 145 and we left a well-deserved tip on top. There and then we decided, that British food rules! Going into details: Enjoyed starters. Soup was divine, deep-fried whitebait is always a favorite, duck hearts in a rice pancake was an interesting departure from British theme, pork skin cracklings absolute perfection! Loud crunching from our table dominated over all the other sounds in the room. Main dishes were excellent. We had two fish dishes and the girls who never had hake before decided that sea bass is generally better (no surprises there but one must try know). Lamb was perfect. Pork belly was somewhat on a dry side, but as promised very crispy. Deserts were excellent - all four! Great experience all in all. Perhaps we were particularly lucky to have Sean to enhance the evening for us with his humor. Thank you, Sean! In any case, we thoroughly recommend Deeson's British restaurant.
Exceptional British style restaurant, in the heart of Canterbury. A fantastic place if you are looking for a lavish night out. Would also highly recommend for any business functions. As such Deeson's is priced at what you would expect! The staff are welcoming and attentive. The food was fantastic but I was a bit concerned if I had any vegetarian guests as the menu was quite lacking in this regard compared to their non vegetarian dishes. The deserts were delicious. The restaurant is privately owned and grows many of their own produce and sources much of the meat from local Kent farms. I would recommend making a reservation as due to its popularity can get full very quickly especially around graduation week in the summer.
Restaurant favours local produce. Excellent cuisine and friendly staff. And ladies toilets with one of the best possible views of the Cathedral. I've been coming for years and never fail to eat here during a visit to Canterbury unless they are fully booked. Was very amused to see that they now have an obvious copy cat immediately across the street. Indeed the sincerest form of flattery.
High quality food with locally sourced ingredients. London prices. Interesting diverse menu but a little pretentious overall. Shabby Chic cafe style decor lacking intimate atmosphere. Couldn't fault the service which was great. Not sure I'd go back though.
Had the milk chocolate and peanut butter parfait, and the lemon and lime cheesecake (which comes with lemon curd and blubbery ice-cream—menu says sorbet but I find that it's more like and ice-cream). Both were amazing! Service is good too. Fries were a bit more on the salty side, and quite oily. Preferred the ones to Gourmet Burger Kitchen.
