The vineyard ride in the train is exciting. Served with rich knowledge of wine and grapes, the tour is well crafted by the guides. The view overlooking the Surrey hills is breath taking. Very courteous staff, though they are too busy to give Perfect attention. Not their fault.

Wonderful place. The whole area is really beautiful. The house and the domain have a story which you better listen during a guided tour starting every day from the main building of the Denbies Wine yard. During the tour you can also enjoy a cup of Denbies champagne.
Great day out of London for couples and families.
On this site Thomas Cubitt - Queen Victoria's favourite architech-builder - constructed a state-of-the-art, 100 room mansion in 1853 for his retirement. Cubitt built his new house to the rear of the existing house that Johathan Tyers had built in 1700s. Cubitt demolished Tyer's house as soon as the new-build was finished (see only photo of both houses standing in 1854). Dying in 1855, Cubitt occupied his new home for only a year. But the house went on to be enjoyed by many, including Canadian forces during the WW2. In 1953, Cubitt's ancestors were forced to demolish the decaying mansion. Today, a private home occupies part of the original site on which a few Cubitt era out-buildings survive - laundry, stable and bothy.
