Never had a bad experience here, the food is delicious, the service is warm and friendly but never pushy. I come here to celebrate all of my big achievements because it is honestly one of the most reliable and good value places to eat. The steak frites is amazing. Excellent restaurant!

First time there today and it was amazing! Not so busy because people still think places are closed due to lock down but I absolutely loved my pasta option. My best friend and I went there for late lunch. However, for the steak and chips options, perhaps they shouldn’t make the chips too crunchy, the food tasted a bit dry. Otherwise great customer service too

I've managed to have lunch a couple of times recently, and the food is great. I tend to go for the fish dish as I like a light lunch. I highly recommend the restaurant. I would loved to have had wine with my meal.....maybe this will be allowed again in 2021

Went for dinner around 6pm in Friday. The food and service were excellent. We had a thyme and brandy pork rillette starter which had an interesting mix of contrasting accents from chutney and salty caper berries. My wife had a pan fried hake dish with peas, potatoes, cabbage bacon and rosemary which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had pain fried stone bass with mussels, potatoes and shallots in a caper, tomato and olive broth (pictured). The bass was perfectly done with a nice crispy skin. The mussels were tender and sweet. The desserts were as good as the main meal. Poached pear with a salty buttermilk ice cream provide a classic salty and sweet combination. The chocolate and espresso pave with molasses ice cream was a rich flavored indulgence. Prices were quite reasonable for such high quality and adventurous food.

So far had two fantastic lunches here! If I lived in Edinburgh, I'd be eating here every week at least! Amazing food and value! Lovely, efficient staff! Great view, if you can get a table closer to the windows! Octopus photo is after I took a bite, couldn't wait!

Loved the decor and meals. I loved the grilled Herring. Wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich and is a little messy to eat. Steak frites wasn't a hit with my son who found the meat tough and overly peppery (I'd agree). Still a great place for lunch.

Amazing food but ok service. I highly recommend the burger and the garlic fries. Overall great restaurant. The garlic fries were the highlight of the meal.
