A little gem of a place. The lady who carried out the guided tour 'Jenny' was amazingly knowledgeable, and sweltered without complaint, or even breaking a sweat, during our 2 hours tour on the hottest day ever recorded.
Really enjoyed seeing this hall today. We went through the house in our own, there was plenty of information in every room . It was interesting all the priest hiding places. There was also volunteers wearing costume from the era. We also went on a guided tour which was very informative. Definitely worth a visit
Lovely ancient hall, well preserved and full potential for tourism, banquets, business, historical reference of Catholic church in England, very interesting.
Relatively little known, as not a National Trust site, but absolutely well worth a visit. Great guided tour, and the building is not only incredibly original, but absolutely packed with history and fascinating stories. The house sits in small but perfectly formed gardens, with lots of very sociable ducks wandering around.
