service is good and has nice drinks but I had the Sunday Roast with Gammon and the gammon was practically ham and was like a stick. the mash was filled with pepper that it made your mouth burn. the plate was floating in gravy. the Yorkshire pudding was just pastry. definitely wouldn’t come here again. 2 stars is me being generous

Really nice pub with an cosy and warm feeling. Good selection of beers and they serve really good food. I went there with a friend from Yorkshire because she wanted to show me and my girlfriend an authentic Yorkshire pub with proper local food. I wasn't disappointed at all and quite pleased actually. The food was delicious and in generous portions. The service was fast and super nice from start to end. If you are visiting Huddersfield this is definitely a good stop for some food and drinks.

Great food and attentive staff..plenty of space to comply with coving regs. Rang ahead to book a table with no problems. Will certainly be going back for dinner again.

Lovely food and good value, generous portions, nice surroundings. The small bottles of Prosecco are very nice. Large beer garden so there is the option of eating outside. It felt quite safe in the current situation. We’ll be back.

Went for a late lunch 2 adults and 1 child, first time in a long time and unfortunately won't be rushing back...the staff are nice and polite but service was a bit slow...we had to wait a long time for desserts I think the order had been forgotten but tbf these were made complimentary. I'm vegetarian and there's literally one option on main menu (veg tagline) it was nice enough but heavy on the cloves!! ...we wasn't told about chefs specials and as we were seated right under the board we didn't see it ourselves which is a shame as there are more options which we all would of preferred.... husband and daughter had burgers and they were tasty enough but you can't go wrong with a burger ....bill total was 33 all together with a drink each and desserts knocked off ..I can live with that but would of been a bit cheesed off if we had to pay full price ...didn't feel it was worth it.
