Visited back in early October. I've always loved the style of Japanese landscaped gardens. Having been to Japan and seen some truly outstanding examples of this art form, seeing this garden in Scotland was a surprise. The Japanese Garden here in Cowden just blew me away. I came mid September and enjoying an Indian Summer. The design of the garden is beautiful and even more so set against the stunning backdrop of the Scottish Highlands for endless photogenic vistas. The zen gardens (I think) was never something I was going to comprehend, but beautiful. I loved the way the planted parts of this gardens formed mini landscapes on their own, like viewing a mini island in a sea of grey gravel. The paths and seats around the lake, the bridges of the lake and mini stream all provide amazing vantage points to see the gardens from different points of view. But I thought the best vantage point of all is at the eastern edge of the lake looking west, when you see most of the garden, with the mountains in the background. That view blew me away. I cannot believe there can be such a hidden gem in Scotland and not to have known about it till now. I've sent a few photos to friends, family etc and they now want to see in person. As others have mentioned, there is an on-site and open air cafe, to eat, drink and enjoy the views. I would give this 10 out of 10 if I could. I will be back.

Stunning place, our first visit and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. So much to see with different views at every step. Would highly recommend visiting these gardens. We will definitely go back. Only one negative is that more signage to location would have been helpful.
A truly magical place. Have visited here many times this year and have enjoyed it every time. Very relaxing place . Would highly recommend.
We discovered this place one day, going direction Dollar Glen and we wrote it down in our list of places to visit. It totally deserves a visit. It costs 6 and it's a very impressive garden with stunning views and lovely walks. We took plenty of pictures and all of them are beautiful. The day that we visited it was a wedding at the place and an incredible Autumn day of October.
An amazing Clackmannanshire hidden gem if you haven't been put it on your 2021 bucket list and must visit I've been several times now spring/summer is best as you want to see it in all its glory
