The Boatyard has the potential to be a great place, such a great location, unfortunately it doesn't know if it's a nightclub or restaurant. The projected re run of Robbie Williams concert from back in the day should have been a sign. The seating area lacks warmth and the tables and chairs need a revamp. The main door was left open a number of times which my husband kept closing and the ladies on the table next to us were having to wear their coats. The food was below average. I had the prawn cocktail which looked as dated as Robbie Williams and lettuce was sad. We shared a whole chicken for our mains, which was the driest chicken I have ever eaten. We did complain to the waiter and they removed the meal from the bill. However her response was, that unfortunately they always get one or two dry chickens. Clearly this has happened before. Worrying, if you can't serve all the chickens perfectly why have this dish on the menu. The waiter was kind, warm and attentive but I would have to say that was the only positive. If you are looking for a drink and you are a huge Robbie Williams fan then I'm sure it would be great... if you are looking for moist chicken and a decent prawn cocktail I would try somewhere else.

Delicious birthday dinner. Team are so welcoming and we didn't even need to pre book. Huge portions

I had scampi and chips, and a coffee from their kiosk. It was all very good although a couple more scampi would have been appreciated! Pleasant service and all very hygienic.

Fantastic ambience with views over the sea and wonderful food! Totally ruined by the service of a waitress that lowered my opinions, by failing to bring water after insisting, getting my daughters food wrong, no condiments without asking, or having to get for myself, incorrect bill, (given somebody else's bill) and then pushed into paying a 10% service charge for the privilege! I did receive 10 back, but such a shame with diabolical service, for a lovely restaurant and location otherwise.
