Unfortunately a book before you visit affair, but the magnificent ruins make up for the cost and effort.

Lovely experience: well constructed talk through phone BUT I do miss those enthusiast walking tours which can add so much. Great history from France (Benedictine), paying taxes to Crown to adoption eventually and sacking (of course) by UK monarch

A really enjoyable walk round some very well maintained ruins, plenty of information, lovely staff and a nice little shop. Highly recommend a visit

Little shop to with some cool goblets, shame they were so much. Ruins is kept in clean, tidy and well presented. Very quiet and tour listening device available.

First class place to visit. Very impressive architecture we were particularly struck by the south wall of the chapter house. A very pleasant couple of hours spent wandering around the ruins. Such nice and relaxing to walk around

Beautiful grounds. Fascinating abbey ruins. Much Wenlock lovely to explore. Took a picnic, despite a few October showers and had a lovely day out.

It doesn't take long to walk round the ruins, but if you like this story is things it's still interesting. Staff were very friendly and helpful too. They do have hot drinks from a machine and a little shop for souvenirs, but not much else, which in some ways is quite nice
