This is a must see! The house was absolutely gutted on the inside a couple of years ago from a fire, which has destroyed whole floors & all internal decoration. It is a unique opportunity to see such a property & its architectural features, whilst the MT have made it safe to visit & consider how they will restore this. A big question is whether to fully restore to its previous grandeur or now leave it as it stands & use the opportunity to tell a new story..?

It's now four year's on since Clandon Park caught fire and caused massive devastation to what was a wonderful National Trust property. Unfortunately there is not too much to view at the moment. The National Trust have opened up the property so that the general public can see what remains of the property. They are hoping that they will be able to let the general public see the changes as they renovate Clandon Park and eventually reinstate it to it's former glory. I

Beautiful house and gardens. Love seeing the gardens all through the year and the progress on the restoration is also fascinating.

Really fascinating time to visit, following the terrible fire in 2015. You don a hardhat and put on a high-vis jacket to enter the house. The house was completely gutted and you can see right back to the brick work. Information boards show before and after images - as well as the history of the building. Go if you can - and take advantage of this unique opportunity.

Interesting to see the progress that ben made to date to restore this house after the fire that gutted it 5 years ago. Can't see into the house at present, but time line provided by NT is very informative. Will probably visit again to see further progress being made and when house reopens to the public.

Not a lot to see as the manor house has been gutted due to fire. Interesting to look around the house and learn about the renovations though

House is not open due to a bad fire but being refurbished at great cost. Grounds need some TLC and guess they are not fully staffed due to the pandemic. Worth a visit though.

The building must have been mighty before the fire. Now there is a mighty job to restore it. The garden area around the scaffolding still showed in pics what it used to be. Enjoy the visit
