We (family of four) stopped by without having booked, we were immediately accommodated and made to feel welcome. The menu was simple but with a good range of choices, with some vegetarian and kids options. The food was great, the Nelson beef Pie was very tasty indeed - one of the best I have tasted. The kids scoffed their food down and we sat in front of the open fire feeling very satisfied. I should also say that the customer service was really very good - smiley and attentive throughout.

Amazing food, we had homemade lasagne with coleslaw, and baileys cheesecake. Really friendly place, great service. Treated us like friends.

Had a lovely evening here with family. We were greeted and made to feel very welcome. A young served us at our table and was very friendly and efficient. Definitely visit again when visiting family.

A gem of a pub. Two lovely roaring fires on a very cold day made the pub immediately welcoming, which was then reinforced by the friendly, helpful staff. The pub is very covid safe and the staff keep everything spotlessly clean, and make sure people abide by the rules. We only called in for a coffee, but stayed to eat because it was such a nice pub, and weren't disappointed, we had an excellent lunch, and the best onion rings I have ever had !

Lovely pub in a historic building. Atmosphere always good here. Serves very good quality food but you will need to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment. Staff are lovely, friendly and professional. Has a large range of gins to choose from if that is your favoured tipple including some local gins. Has all the usual other alcoholic drinks you would expect and a coffee machine offering several different coffee options
