This is operated by Wetherspoons. It was the old Tunbridge Wells Opera House, now aesthetically restored. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Good selection of food and drinks. Well worth a visit. You can book the lower boxes for dining. Also once a year they take the building back to its days as an Opera House. Boxes and upper stalls are sold to The Public and a full Opera takes place.

Well service BBQ chicken pizza Fish burger with chips Beefeater London blood orange with tonic water Food and taste good
Very good place to meet people and stay for a while. Unfortunately, fish 'n chips were on the menu bit not available. The pizza was not the greatest, but the lasagna was delicious. Overall good value for price in a rather unique atmosphere.
Mid renovation at the moment. But service was quick and the staff cheerful. Just over 3 a pint and 1 drink included with some meals. Absolute bargain. Loved it
Nice place..Unfortunately when we decided to visit they had scaffolding put up within the buildings interior. Was unable to capture the full beauty of the decor.. The food however was really good.Thank you
While visiting family for the weekend we decided to look around Tunbridge Wells for the afternoon. Called into the Opera House for a drink, the lady on the door blasted us with the COVID rules, that didn’t feel very welcoming! The pub was relatively quiet and the first drink was served without issue. We ordered another drink, the staff were wandering about and some chatting. After 17 minutes we queried the drinks order, the response wasn’t friendly or apologetic, after 27 minutes we went to the bar where the order was now being prepared, to be told this is it and the crisps were slung at the tray so we requested a refund and left. Not a happy experience
Really disappointing evening, it deserves less than a star. Our tables were not cleaned once, especially with COVID! and due to this they said we had too many drinks and cut off having any more drinks, and this was before 9. I only ordered and medium Glass of wine and a few tequila rose shots which aren’t strong. We spoke to a manager, she could see we were not drunk and just Ignored the fact a colleague or someone had made a false complaint. Won’t be going back for a while
I'll start with what's not great. Interior of the building/pub not overly suitable for people with physical limitations, I.e blind, partially sighted, wheelchair users, people on crutches etc. There is a lot of stairs- albeit small sets - to navigate. Also, if the 'Stage' bar is closed/unmanned then you'll need to navigate all the stairs again to the other bar & back again. The good bit: the pub is stunning on the inside & out. Being a former Opera House you'd expect a wondrous interior & this doesn't disappoint. The pub is quirky & architecturally mouth watering, but every bit as functional as you'd expect. Even if you don't like Wetherspoon establishments, just visit for the beauty of a former opera house which was built in 1902.
