Great memories from childhood. Quiet tucked away at the end of Botley Park. Still looks as though you could swim in it thought. Only one pool now. Sad but good memories.

I was lucky with late afternoon sun gilding the turbid rain-swollen flow of the Bulstake Stream backwater. This cul-de-sac of history (& walking) might not appeal to everyone but it is immediately evocative of different times. Steps descend into the water at several places on both sides; a grainy wooden bridge crosses the middle. At least one visit is required for those who like to find out about Oxford.

Disused bathing area running off the Thames. Closed in the 1990's for health and safety reasons, as the river water could be poluted. Interesting spot to visit, but as it's a dead end you have to return the way you came. Concrete bases of the former changing rooms can be seen after crossing over the bridge.
