Professional service. Great asset to have a Thai consulate close and avoid the need to travel to London. Have been there a few times now, and staff are always friendly, helpful and have a smile. Only down side not always easy to get parking opposite, For those walking from Cardiff Central Station about 20 minutes walk.

*** UPDATED REVIEW (MARCH 2019). Was 5 stars now 3. *** In order to get your visa you will need to telephone and book an appointment in advance. You can check on the Cardiff consulate website for the type of visa you will need and pricing but since I have been going pricing has increased with an added admin fee of 10.00. *** (March 2019) I have been to the consulate three times now and despite presenting all the relevant documentation that clearly states my name, gender etc. on all three occasions the staff have made an error on my visa which has resulted in two pages (for each of the three times - 6 pages in total) of my passport being taken up as opposed to one page. So my advice would be to throughly check your visa before you leave as the staff aren't very apologetic if they make an error. *** The consulate can be a little difficult to find if you are visiting for the first time so make sure to street view before going to your appointment. Parking is sparse so keep this in mind if you are traveling by car. You may have to park in the Cardiff Bay parking or within Cardiff town and walk / catch a bus / train to get to the consulate etc.

Had a run up to Cardiff back in December to get a single entry tourist visa, I had a 12.00 appointment. I arrived at 10.30, so I thought I'd pop in and let them know I was about and would be at my appointment. I walked out of the consulate at 10.40 visa done and dusted!!! There was another guy in there form filling and an old couple struggling to fill in the forms with a staff member was helping them and they still managed to sort me out in 10 minutes, now that is amazing service. Way too efficient for the Embassy to compete with, mind you, the staff were Welsh, not a Thai in sight.

Had a few visas and always been a brilliant service, the guy that works there is so helpful explaining the different visas and rules. You have to make an appointment, then you collect the visa at your appointment, only takes 10 mins. Never had any problems and all staff so friendly

Due to a Songkran in Thailand, Easter in UK and my pre booked flight. I only had one day to obtain my Visa .The team in Cardiff were understanding, professional and very helpful They were able to facilitate my visa at very short notice. I thank them sincerely Martin .
