The Jenny Wren Inn is a really nice place. We recently celebrated a birthday meal. The choice of food is enticing, the meals we ordered were freshly cooked and very tasty. The staff was attentive and accurate. A really nice evening, thank you .

Very friendly landlord and staff. Locals were welcoming and happy to chat. Wide range of beers available. Food looked lovely, we did not eat but definitely will next time we visit. Beer garden at the back of pub but also on the banking next to the river.

This pub restaurant is in a lovely spot on the Bank of the River Trent. It has seating inside and outside on the river bank. We went on a weekday evening for tea. The menu was a choice of traditional pub grub: soup, prawn cocktail, scampi, gammon, pie, fish and chips etc. Not exactly 'modern', but acceptable for its customer base. I found the food to be acceptable, all be it with a few issues. The prawns on my cocktail were dry, I can only imagine from being frozen and then sat around waiting to be used. The prawn cocktail was piled on a plate with little care for presentation and didn't have enough sauce for my liking. They also put raw onion on the accompanying salad, again, not to my taste and for me seemed to clash with the delicate prawns. The gammon was large, but thin. Chips were excellent. Steak pie was homemade and nice with big chunks of steak. The staff were friendly and accommodating. They had a few younger girls working for them, who seemed a little inexperienced, which will explain why my bill was wrong at the end of the night, but they sorted it without question. One of the more senior female staff was chewing something (maybe gum) as she spoke to customers and served food. Not very professional and one of the reasons I gave the Jenny Wren an average three stars. Other reasons include the mediocre menu/quality of food and a lack of provision for social distancing with the table arrangement. We were less than a metre from the next tables occupant (back to back),which made my partner a little uneasy. I'm not saying 'stay away' by any means, I'm hoping I just caught them on a bad night out or if they are reading this, they implement a few changes to improve and be the great place they could potentially be, rather than just 'OK ' .

Had a pleasant lunch here, on the Eat Out scheme but prices were reasonable anyway. Food was freshly prepared and staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating outside or inside.
