Dissapointed with customer service from Matthew. I booked 2 instructor courses with SBC and got told off that I hadn’t understood the online booking system correctly! Also the 2019 calendar had not been updated properly, so I needed to talk to the office, wish I hadn’t bothered! Some customer service training needed, certainly would not hurry back!

Chartered three times with Solent Boat Charters. Good prices, no quibbling over the return of deposit, and on a weekend you have got until Monday to get the boat back, so you can have a full days sailing on the Sunday

Organised a day trip for a group with these guys. Stated our intentions and number of people from the outset. As a novice myself, my questions were answered sarcastically and obnoxiously on several different occasions. Not the service you expect when paying 1000 for a day trip. Arrived on the day, was promptly told that we were only allowed 10 people on the boat rather than 11 despite stating the number in my first email and being sold the boat with the line \this will accommodate 11 people\ in the email. Managed to get all 11 on the boat eventually, but not without a fuss and being made to feel like an imbecile, again, because of my lack of sailing experience. Once Skipper Paul had realised that the group was more than capable of pulling a few ropes, he seemed more comfortable and relaxed - no slight on him at all. In fact, communication to Paul was so poor from the back office that he didn't know the intention of our trip was to reach Cowes and hop off for a few drinks, so he had to change the route he had been given at the last minute. Overall, once on the boat, an extremely enjoyable day. That being said, I'd strongly recommend using an alternative to avoid Matthew Burton, his hideous tone and woeful customer service skills.
