Good for kids
This place is definitely recommended. I found it by accident. I drive past taplow court every day, but had no idea this place was here! Until , I walked down the small road next to Taplow Court house and came across this. It's an old Saxon mound which is surrounded by an old graveyard. There was a church that used to stand there but it was knocked down and replaced by a new church that now stands in Taplow village instead. There isn't any toilets here but it has a beautiful view and you can see into the grounds of taplow court. It's quiet and I also saw a bunny rabbit! Its not that far away from taplow village and opposite the cricket club. It also has a lovely walk down to the Thames if you walk back down berry hill.

Great views from such a small mound
Taeppa's Mound is a 7th century Anglo Saxon burial mound found in the old Taplow Cemetery. It is accessible 365 days a year via a public footpath, and provides good views southwards over the Thames Valley. Taeppa's Mound gave it's name to the village of Taplow, low meaning hill or mound. When the burial mound, perhaps that of a Saxon Prince, was excavated in 1883, the remains of a Saxon warrior was found, along with the riches grave goods up until those at Sutton Hoo. These grave good are on display in the British Museum.
Very interesting landmark in the gardens of Taplow Court
In a close private house Taplow CRT when open days are on well worth a visit to just chill out and tskd it all in.
