We received a Charlton Orchards Gift Box of apples just before Christmas. Very welcome! It was well packed, but in the top layer, Cox's Orange Pippin, two were brown/bruised/overripe - though you could not tell until they were cut open. Only a small part of each was edible. In the second layer, Orleans Reinette, two had dark markings on the skin, but these blemishes turned out to be superficial. The bottom layer, Adams Pearmain, were perfect. Thought you ought to know for future reference. The gift was sent to us by Jonathan and Vivien Hayward, currently at Wrington.
