This pub is a laid back no nonsense type of place. Decent beer selection (nothing flashy), and a nice lunch special of 10 for any main dish item from the menu and a drink (alcoholic, yes). I got the cod and chips. The star of the meal was the cod. It was cooked perfectly and served with a nice tasty tartar sauce. The dud of the meal was the mushy peas. They're not to be overlooked and many pubs make them quite tasty when prepared correctly. In this case they were awfully dry, almost chalky, and not very palatable. The service was spot on and the place definitely has charm. Go for a pint, enjoy the laid back attitude of the place and don't be afraid to eat some food if you're hungry (the burgers coming from the kitchen looked spectacular). Cheers!

Popped in here with a mate after work last night for a couple of beers, ended up staying the whole night. Friendly bar staff, good food and good beer. Even found a function room downstairs with a couple of guys playing live music.

This used to be my local pub, and whilst it is still a nice place the prices have made others in the area attractive. If you are here I would suggest popping into Franco on Brendon Street.
